Elected officials and experts on the ground for an efficient public service
Elected officials and Veolia inspected the Bormes-Le Lavandou wastewater treatment plant to assess its performance.
Water management, an essential resource and precious public good, is at the heart of local elected officials' concerns. It is in this context that a field visit was held at the intercommunal wastewater treatment plant of Bormes-les-Mimosas and Le Lavandou.
This operational audit, conducted following a union committee focused on financial matters, aimed to evaluate sanitation management. This is a fundamental public service for the daily lives of residents and the protection of the coastal environment. The inspection highlighted the importance of constant investments to maintain state-of-the-art technology and guarantee the efficiency of wastewater treatment.
PRIVATE EXPERTISE
The visit was led by a delegation of elected officials and technicians, highlighting the involvement of public authorities in monitoring this delegated service. Present were François Arizzi, president of the SIVOM and mayor of Bormes-les-Mimosas, as well as Bertrand Carletti, vice-president and mayor of Le Lavandou.
They were accompanied by Jérôme Massolini, deputy for works and technical services of Bormes-les-Mimosas, and Jean-Luc Plateau, elected representative for Le Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer. Technical and administrative monitoring was carried out by executives from the municipalities concerned: Vincent Amiet (Director General of Services of Bormes-les-Mimosas), Julie di Serio (DGS of Le Lavandou), Frédéric Dupied (Director of Technical Services of Bormes-les-Mimosas), Hervé Cauchois (DST of Le Lavandou), as well as Yannick Massus (technical advisor) and Charles Malot (administrative manager of SIVOM).
This general mobilization demonstrates a desire for control and transparency in the management of this strategic issue.
The operator Veolia, in charge of running the plant for two years, presented its detailed annual report, which provided an update on the technical and financial management of the infrastructure.
The presentation was followed by a guided tour of the facilities, allowing elected officials and technicians to see firsthand the modernization work carried out over the past two years.
This rigorous monitoring approach aims at a clear objective: "To guarantee an ever more efficient, transparent public water service that is respectful of the Mediterranean environment," the operator recalled.
This control is the guarantee of optimized resource management, meeting regulatory requirements and citizens' expectations for a sustainable and high-quality public water service.
