For its 6th edition, the Festival de la Lune offers three cinema evenings at Domaine Tropez, in Gassin, on July 16, 30, and August 13, 2026. The Festival de la Lune, the summer event for film lovers in the Var, is innovating for its sixth edition by settling for the first time at Domaine Tropez in Gassin. Located in the heart of the Golfe de Saint-Tropez, between the famous peninsula and La Croix-Valmer, this vineyard will offer a natural and prestigious setting for three open-air screenings, promising a unique alliance between the seventh art and the Provençal art of living.
Organized by the Var association Quattrocento, the event, which also takes place in Carqueiranne and La Crau, is expanding its influence with this new collaboration. The public is invited to discover a program mixing a music documentary, a family comedy, and an initiatory drama, under the stars of the French Riviera.
Three evenings, three universes
The first screening, on July 16, will be dedicated to one of the greatest French composers with the projection of the documentary "Il était une fois Michel Legrand". Directed by David Hertzog Dessites, a close friend of the festival, the film retraces the prolific career of the three-time Oscar-winning artist. From Peau d’Âne to Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, including his collaborations with legends like Miles Davis or Barbra Streisand, this biopic celebrates a virtuoso whose melodies continue to enchant audiences.
On July 30, place for laughter with the comedy "Chers Parents", directed by Emmanuel Patron. Adapted from a successful play, the film was noticed at the Festival International du Film de Comédie de l'Alpe d'Huez. It features a five-star cast composed of André Dussollier, Miou-Miou, Arnaud Ducret, and Pauline Clément. The screenplay, centered on a lottery win that upsets family balances, promises situations as funny as they are tender.
Finally, on August 13, the festival will close with "Compostelle" by Yann Samuell. A spring box office success, this sensitive film stars Alexandra Lamy, Julien Le Berre, and Mélanie Doutey. It accurately addresses the themes of reconstruction, transmission, and self-transcendence through the journey of a troubled teenager and his guide on the roads of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle.
