On the holiday road with Eric Garence
This summer, 7 VINCI Autoroutes rest areas on the A8, from Aix-en-Provence to Menton, host the "On the road with... Eric Garence" exhibition.
In addition to the artistic approach, the objective is to strengthen road safety by encouraging travelers to take regular breaks to discover this exhibition from rest area to rest area, with VINCI Autoroutes encouraging users to rest more often during their journey. This exhibition, full of life and color, also highlights the magnificent territories of our region. Through this action, VINCI Autoroutes also intends to contribute to the tourism promotion of the region.
CULTURAL EXHIBITION
Born in Nice in 1980, Eric Garence is a contemporary artist. Since 2015, he has been creating works that plunge the viewer into a modern and colorful atmosphere, projecting an enhanced vision of the places he interprets. For Eric Garence, "the idea is to use an atypical distribution channel that nevertheless brings together thousands of travelers, and which will also help add a safety dimension by encouraging travelers to stop and admire the artworks of our beautiful region" At each rest area hosting the exhibition, a giant cube presents 4 of his large-format works as well as an explanatory panel about the exhibition. Travelers can discover 28 illustrations of the region's municipalities and share their photos of this exhibition on social networks with the dedicated hashtag #GarenceSurLaRoute. This initiative is co-signed by several tourism organisations (Côte d’Azur France, Le Var, Estérel Côte d’Azur) and Radio VINCI Autoroutes which accompanies users 365 days a year across the entire VINCI Autoroutes network. •
