The City celebrated Sainte-Madeleine, patron saint of gardeners

Thanks to the associations for over 30 years, the celebration brings Provencal traditions to life with dances, music, and culinary specialties. The City set up an exceptional program, with a procession, accompanied by Provencal music and songs from the parochial school, avenue Char Verdun. Then, a mass followed by the distribution of navettes offered by the City (Saint-Jean à la Porte latine church) while traditional Provencal dances enlivened the forecourt of Saint-Jean à la Porte latine church.

Finally, an aïoli competition and a giant aïoli brought this beautiful day to a close at the Jardin remarquable de Baudouvin.

At the end, Thierry Albertini, mayor of La Valette, welcomed the commitment of the associations and their attachment to our roots: “I thank La Respelido Valetenco and Lou Rodou Valettois for keeping Provencal traditions alive, as well as Jean-Louis Masson, president of the Département, and the elected officials, who came to share this convivial moment.” Thus, the mayor mentioned the personalities present: Françoise Dumont, senator of the Var, Fernand Brun, Cathy Venturino-Gabelle, Valérie Rialland, and Caroline Depallens.
