Two maritime shuttle boats for the Police nationale

It is in this context that the police wished to acquire two 950 Rafale vessels for the Direction départementale de la sécurité publique of Bouches-du-Rhône and that of Var.
“La Région Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur is contributing €750,000 for the purchase of these two maritime patrol boats. This allows for special attention to be paid to both of these coastal strips with the deployment of equipment aimed at securing users and the activities taking place there during the 2024 JOP events. In addition to securing this event, they play a central role in securing residents, particularly in search and rescue missions.
This exceptional commitment naturally ensures the safety of our residents but also of our tourists, who sometimes come from the other side of the world, allowing them to discover this exceptional territory in complete safety,” insisted François de Canson, vice-president of the Région Sud, in charge of economic development, attractiveness, tourism, and major risk prevention, during the inauguration of the two patrol boats.
The vice-president added: “Since 2021, the Région Sud has been investing massively to ensure the safety of the residents of its territory. Thus, more than €20 million has already been dedicated to the national law enforcement forces, gendarmerie and police. After funding the equestrian brigade in Bouches-du-Rhône, the Région is dedicating more than €757,000 to the Directions Interdépartementales de la Police Nationale (DIPN) 13 and 83 for the purchase of two maritime patrol boats which will, initially, ensure the safety of the sailing events in Marseille and then, in a second phase, be deployed along the coasts to ensure the safety of tourists, recreational boaters, and residents.
The Région stands alongside the law enforcement forces and the State, to which it brings its support and financial commitment.” Indeed, as part of a partnership contracted in 2021 with the Ministère de l'Intérieur, the Conseil régional adopted a multi-year plan (2021-2027) entitled “Région Sud, la Région sûre”. Thus, the Région Sud is committed to the safety of residents and tourists alongside municipalities for the police municipale and alongside the Police nationale, gendarmerie forces, and all those who contribute to the exercise of this competence.
This commitment is reflected in the securing of the coastal strip during major sporting events, and more particularly during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
