At 100 years old, Marius Bogliolo receives the Légion d'honneur
A sailor who enlisted in the troops, Marius Bogliolo was a resistance fighter then a gendarme! He was born in Toulon on September 1, 1924.

Before the commemoration of the Libération de La Valette-du-Var, Thierry Albertini went to the EHPAD « les Tamaris » to present the Légion d'honneur, with the rank of Chevalier, to Marius Bogliolo. The mayor was accompanied by elected officials from the Conseil municipal, Jacques Michaux, president of the comité d'entente des associations patriotiques (CEAP), and Nicolas Moulin, representing the groupement de gendarmerie du Var.
RECOGNITION OF THE NATION

After the presentation of the recipient's military career by young Néo, Marius Bogliolo was decorated by Vice-amiral d'escadre (2S) Yves Joly, Commandeur de la Légion d'honneur, who pronounced the consecrated words: "In the name of the Président de la République and by virtue of the powers conferred upon us, we make you a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur". The prestigious decoration was presented to him on a cushion by Adjudant Nicolas Moulin, president of the ACSPMG (Histoire et patrimoine de la Gendarmerie). An official sequence marked by great solemnity, especially when the République honors one of its own in the presence of his family, loved ones, and residents of the EPHAD. Despite his advanced age, Marius thanked, with great emotion, the personalities for this ceremony in his honor, which concluded with a friendship drink and the traditional family photo. Retired from the gendarmerie since 1972, Marius obtained the title of gendarme honoraire in 1978. Married, he is the father of 2 children. And, since his retirement from the gendarmerie, he has been active within veterans' associations and continues to pass on the memory to the younger generations.
