What is your background, Camille?

After a Master 2 in marketing/communication, business school training, and working as a freelancer, I decided to open a place dedicated to pretzels in May 2024. I couldn't find them anywhere, except at the Christmas market or in Alsace. It was my mother who passed on her passion for catering to me. I wanted to bring something new to the market: it's a bet, a challenge, a dare. It's not a highly exploited market, so I had to take the risk to do it.

Why did you choose Hyères?

Thanks to a romantic encounter! It's love that brought me to Var and more precisely to Hyères. I also love the authenticity and simplicity of this city.

How did you choose the premises on rue des Porches?

Elle répond aux questions de La Gazette du Var.

At first, I was supposed to visit another location. That visit didn't happen because I found the door closed. Then, while wandering through the city center, I fell under the spell of rue des Porches and the storefront. It was a real encounter, because that day, the real estate agent and the owner were in the premises.

A very special focus on the decoration?

Elle répond aux questions de La Gazette du Var.

Indeed, the colors and atmosphere reflect me 100%. I wanted to mix and bring together in this same place books, plants, pretzels, and human beings, which are also my passions. I would like customers to take a book, read it on the spot while enjoying a pretzel and a drink, or take it home, and bring back others, like the book-sharing box concept but on a larger scale. I wanted to create a place where people feel good.

Tell us about the pretzel and the Moricette®?

The breads are made by an Alsatian master baker. Everything is baked and filled on site. The cookies, muffins, salads, and cakes are made on site in the morning. The flagship products are the pretzel and the Moricette®. The difference between the pretzel and the Moricette® is just the shape. The Moricette® was created in 1973 by Poulaillon. The pretzel can be eaten hot or cold, but it is best hot.

What do you offer?

I suggest Moricettes® with original fillings (cheddar, chicken-cheddar, tomatoes, mozzarella...). Every quarter, I present new items with a savory product and a sweet product as well as a new hot or cold drink. These are my own creations, my recipes. I innovated with sweet pretzels, the caramel and pretzel cookie which is a delicious sweet and savory mix, and the Nutella® Moricette®.

Any suggestions from Mam’zel Bretzel?

You can taste "Le Saumon" which is a delicious composition of guacamole, salmon, and fried onions, or "L'Italien" which is a mix of tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto. Or homemade mixed salads with pieces of pretzels slipped inside. •
