The Club de l’Image puts on a show at Château Forbin

EXHIBITION Created in 1991, the Club de l'Image currently has around twenty members, with as many women as men. It brings together amateur photographers of all levels, with more or less experience, sharing a common passion for photography.

SHARING AND EXCHANGE Thierry Chandelier, proud of his great team of photographers, recalls: "Our vocation is not to give photography classes, because everyone must master their equipment to start with." "Sharing and exchange are the real driving forces of the group. Everyone progresses at their own pace, naturally, having fun, which allows us to discover techniques and also discover ourselves," he adds.

For its part, the Ville provides a meeting room (at the Espace associatif) and a photographic studio so that the club members can meet on Tuesday evenings. "Thus, all the elements are in place for everyone to acquire and improve their techniques. Thanks to the studio, we can work on lighting and portraits in greater depth.

What a wonderful tool," rejoices Thierry Chandelier.

In addition, as soon as the weather permits and as far as possible, the association organizes outdoor outings. "The themes are very varied: sunsets, flora and fauna, landscapes, motor racing, etc. Each photographer can thus create their own world and deepen their techniques, which is the goal of the club," continues the president.

Furthermore, the cultural team of the Ville provides, each year, two beautiful rooms in the Château, allowing the 19 photographers to exhibit their photos. Regarding this, Thierry Chandelier points out: "We are exhibiting around sixty very high-quality photos on varied themes, ranging from wildlife photography to portraits, as well as more artistic themes. This exhibition is interactive since we are organizing a contest that offers a chance to win a photo."

Each year, this event attracts more than 600 people.

Par ailleurs, l'équipe culturelle de la Ville met à disposition, chaque année, deux très belles salles du Château permettant aux 19 photographes d’exposer leurs photos. A ce sujet, Thierry Chandelier souligne : « Nous exposons une soixantaine de photos de très grande qualité sur des thèmes variés, allant de la photographie animalière aux portraits en passant par des thèmes plus artistiques. Cette exposition est interactive puisque nous organisons un jeu concours qui permet de gagner une photo ». Chaque année, cet événement attire plus de 600 personnes. Enfin, la structure espère pouvoir recruter d’autres membres à l’avenir. « L’acquisition de nouveaux matériels, afin de pouvoir s’ouvrir à d’autres techniques, ainsi qu’un partenariat avec la mairie sur plusieurs projets font partie des objectifs que le club se fixe, sans oublier la réflexion sur les sujets de l’exposition en 2025 », conclut le président.

Finally, the organization hopes to be able to recruit other members in the future. "Acquiring new equipment to open up to other techniques, as well as a partnership with the town hall on several projects, are among the goals the club has set for itself, not to mention brainstorming the themes for the 2025 exhibition," concludes the president.
