The Cadets de la gendarmerie on a mission with the Maison de la Sécurité Routière

Thus, there is an association of the Cadets de la gendarmerie (metropolitan and overseas) in each department or region. These structures allow young people to carry out a mission of general interest alongside the gendarmerie and associated partners.

AWARENESS OPERATION

During the 2024 edition of the Bol d'Or, wearing the logo of the Cadets de la gendarmerie, Lou, Emma, Bianca, and Coralie, Cadets de la gendarmerie du Var from the SNU sessions of 2022–2023, did not go unnoticed near the Maison de la Sécurité Routière stand! Accompanied by personnel from the groupement de la gendarmerie du Var, they took part in a major awareness campaign on the dangers of alcohol. Led by lieutenantcolonel Dauboeuf of the groupement de la gendarmerie, this initiative, which has existed for two years, corresponds to the third phase of the SNU voluntary commitment. This phase takes concrete form, in particular, through attendance at patriotic commemorations as flag-bearers, interventions alongside associations, or during actions in the field. In parallel, the gendarmerie held its mobile Point Infos Gendarmerie. Advice and presentations on the institution's professions set the pace of the conversations, while the same scenario played out at the stands of the Marine nationale and the Armée de terre. The objective is the recruitment of new personnel. Nicolas Moulin, the linchpin of the Recrutement – Réserve Opérationnelle unit of the gendarmerie du Var, recalls the objectives of the approach: 'As I often say, at the risk of repeating myself, the "going out to meet people" is the best way to be in contact with the young population. The exchanges are often warm, and the profession of gendarme, which we represent, always attracts many people. This observation is also valid for our comrades in the Armée de terre, the Marine nationale, or the Légion étrangère, not to mention the Réserve Opérationnelle of the gendarmerie. During these exchanges, there is no shortage of questions. On the occasion of the Bol d'Or, the presence of the Cadets de la gendarmerie also aroused some astonishment.' 'Finally, our partnership with the Maison de la Sécurité Routière du Var, led by the prefecture, also shows the awareness of young people regarding road safety issues.
