The City welcomes new students
The Maison de l’Étudiant et de l’Information Jeunesse (MEIJ) invited new Toulon students for a sharing session in a musical atmosphere.
No fewer than 180 students newly enrolled at Kedge Business School and the various BTS programs of the lycée Georges Cisson were expected. This was an opportunity for them to discover the structure and its services, as well as its institutional and community partners. Creating connections and cohesion. This is one of the objectives of this evening designed for new Toulon students from diverse backgrounds. Over a buffet, the young people were able to meet and chat, all to the musical backdrop of a DJ set. Many institutional and community partners were also present (Assurance maladie, CAF, Les Yeux dans les Jeux, la Ligue de l’Enseignement, Ensemble 2 Générations) and provided information to these new students. Other events were also scheduled on September 23 and October 17, with students enrolled in different Toulon schools. The Maison de l’Étudiant offers various services and initiatives to young people aged 16 to 30, whether they are students or not, young professionals, or job seekers. A true one-stop shop, its mission is to meet their expectations and needs by offering a wide range of services, ranging from guidance to student job searches, including CV and cover letter workshops. The premises at 3/7 rue de la Glacière, at the crossroads of the Chalucet and Porte d’Italie university campuses, are divided into 5 areas: reception, documentation with open-access books, digital, co-working for the Bureaux des étudiants, a free Wi-Fi area, and an office for welcoming the structure's partners. While its primary mission is to welcome and inform 16–30-year-olds and their families in areas as varied as employment, training, health, international mobility, or housing, the Maison de l’Étudiant, certified "Information Jeunesse" by the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, supports the development of student life, promotes higher education within the metropolitan area, and contributes to student well-being by creating social ties.
The Maison de l’Étudiant et de l’Information Jeunesse is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 12:30 pm, except during school holidays.
