Renaud Muselier: 'Concrete projects for the Varois'
The President of the Région inaugurated the 7th Salon des Communes et Intercommunalités du Var, in the presence of Philippe Mahé, préfet du Var.

Indeed, the Région Sud acts for economic development, mobility, planning, and the energy transition of territories. 'Since 2016, 462 projects have been supported under 'Nos communes d'abord' to the tune of more than €47 million, and more than €272 million have been invested in the 'Nos territoires d'abord' scheme, aimed at Var intercommunalities. From Sainte-Baume to Estérel, from our coastline to our countryside, the Var, France's top tourist destination outside Paris, is an exceptional department!
Since 2016, the Région Sud has stood alongside all the territories of the Var, which we have supported to the tune of €319 million.

And, we will continue our efforts with the implementation of a metropolitan RER in Toulon, the experimentation of the first regional carpooling line between Cuers and Toulon, or the launch of works on the Ligne Nouvelle Provence-Côte d'Azur. 'With the 2030 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, we bring a wonderful opportunity for our valleys, our resorts, for all our territories in the six departments, with you, Varoises and Varois,' declared Renaud Muselier. RURAL TERRITORIES On the ground, the Région acts for economic development, mobility, planning, and the energy transition of territories.
'In this context, it has established a partnership with the Associations départementales des Maires of the 6 departments of the region, notably with the Association des Maires du Var. This funding has allowed for concrete achievements, such as the renovation of public buildings, the creation of green spaces, or the improvement of sports infrastructure. Beyond the municipalities, the Région has established close partnerships with all the intercommunalities of the Var,' added the president of the Région.
Thus, the Région pays particular attention to rural territories, notably by supporting local development projects, initiatives in favor of health, and access to public services. 'Among the flagship actions, we can mention support for Maisons et centres de santé with 19 establishments supported to the tune of €2.7 million, the fight against medical deserts with support for the installation of general practitioners and the creation of grants for interns, the development of renewable energies, support for solar energy and geothermal production projects, and environmental preservation with the creation of regional natural parks. Finally, support for reforestation and biodiversity preservation projects,' concluded Renaud Muselier.
