All resilient in the face of risks!
On October 11, the City mobilized for the National Resilience Day.
The Commune participated in the Journée nationale de la résilience, an event organized by the ministère de la Transition écologique et solidaire, which aimed to raise citizen awareness of natural and technological risks, develop a risk culture, and strengthen solidarity in the face of crises. "This day was also part of the momentum of 'La Farlède se régénère', a project launched by the Municipality to make our town a more resilient, sustainable, and supportive city. A program that emphasizes ecological transition and everyone's involvement. Raising awareness and protecting residents against climate and technological risks are part of this approach," recalls Yves Palmiéri, the mayor.
STRENGTHENING PREPARATION IN THE FACE OF RISKS
During this day, the Espace de La Capelle was transformed into a Maison des risques with several booths and interactive workshops, including one led by the Syndicat du Gapeau. It focused on raising awareness about flood risks and prevention measures. There was also a presentation stand for the Réserve Communale de Sécurité Civile (RCSC), which allowed visitors to learn about its role and actions. At the stand of the service sécurité et prévention des risques majeurs, the public was able to attend a presentation of the DICRIM, with an update on the Obligations Légales de Débroussaillement (OLD). The Espace de la Capelle also hosted interactive workshops designed to inform citizens on the behaviors to adopt in the event of a disaster. In addition, the morning of October 11 was reserved for CM1 pupils. With the association NEEDE, a partner of the 'La Farlède se régénère' program, they participated in awareness workshops, notably on environmental risks and the effects of climate change. "In another workshop, the students took part in a practical activity to deepen their knowledge. Moreover, this learning proved to be in line with the objectives of the commune, which wishes to educate, from a very young age, on environmental protection and risk management," adds Yves Palmiéri.
RESILIENCE AND SOLIDARITY
In the afternoon, the workshops were open to all Farlédois. They were able to learn how to prepare a 72-hour survival kit and find out about the various risks present in the municipality. Finally, the City had set up sessions on cybersecurity, risk prevention, and a flood simulator, echoing the priorities of 'La Farlède se régénère' which is to better anticipate and react to emergency situations. "This day is another illustration of La Farlède's commitment to resilience, one of the key areas of the 'La Farlède se régénère' project, which proposes concrete actions. One of the initiatives is the creation of the Réserve Communale de Sécurité Civile, whose volunteer members were introduced at the end of the day and received their reservist cards. These citizens will play an essential role in protecting and supporting the population during crises. By participating in the Journée nationale de la résilience and linking it to 'La Farlède se régénère', the municipality has reaffirmed its ambition to build a resilient community, capable of responding to the environmental and technological challenges of tomorrow," concludes the mayor.
