The works that remain to be completed

Over the months, the progress of the works is clearly visible and the new infrastructure is revealed a little more each day. The early opening of the 3rd lane on the sections from Pierre-Ronde to La Bigue and from La Bigue to Tombadou, totaling 2.8 km, is a major step in the progress of the operation. The latter contributes to improving traffic conditions, only in the direction of Toulon, with an additional lane.

Drivers benefit from smoother traffic flow at the exits and especially at the entrances of the interchanges located on this section of the highway, allowing them either to continue to the next interchange without changing lanes, or to merge onto the A57 more easily. Thus, drivers can better distribute themselves across the 3 lanes depending on their destination for improved safety.

The successful outcome of this early and temporary opening of the 3rd lane is the result of collective work led by the State services, the préfet du Var, and the team from the Direction d'Opérations A57 of VINCI Autoroutes. Thus, the NGE consortium of companies will complete the remaining works on the structures, particularly the pont des Fourches and the one at La Bigue, at the two pedestrian footbridges in Sainte Musse and Pierre Ronde, in the central median in Sainte Musse, and on the side median at La Bigue with the construction of a concrete barrier. The consortium will also have to finish the section between the tunnel and Benoît Malon, then between Pierre Ronde and the A57 - A570 junction to bring safety and signaling equipment back to standards.

It still has to work on restoring the roads outside the A57, in the area of the 2 platforms of the future bus stops in Sainte-Musse to develop them, between Benoît Malon and Pierre Ronde for the construction of final pavements and final road markings, and on several areas along the A57 for landscaping.
