T
his is the challenge of the eco-challenges proposed by la Ville in partnership with the Chambre du Commerce et de l’Industrie and the Chambre des métiers et de l’artisanat. This dynamic aims to reduce the carbon footprint, produce renewable energy and use natural resources in a more responsible way.

NATIONAL BRAND
“It is a national brand, deployed since 2018 in the région Sud by the territorial Chambres de Commerce et d’Industrie and the Chambre de Métiers et de l’Artisanat Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, to develop the economy in the heart of town, while conducting virtuous initiatives for the environment, and with the local authorities wishing to commit,” explains Martine Blanc, deputy mayor in charge of commerce and crafts. “This operation is supported by the ADEME and the Région Sud. It highlights the environmental actions taken by local businesses: waste, water, energy, transport, eco-products management, and corporate social responsibility,” adds Sophie Ourdouillié, deputy mayor in charge of the environment. From the very beginning, and even more obviously in the current economic and environmental context, the ambition of Éco-Défis resonates with the action of the ADEME, deployed in the regions. It enables the development of territorial approaches to mobilize the socio-economic fabric, relying on cooperation among local stakeholders. The Éco-défis operation is part of the regional 100% Plan climat strategy and links up with the “Zéro rideau fermé” program by supporting commercial activity in the region's town centers. Thus, on October 8, an agreement was signed by la Ville, the Chambre du Commerce et de l’Industrie and the Chambre des métiers et de l’artisanat, in the presence of Martine Blanc and Sophie Ourdouillié. •
