The Charles Sandro school group has taken on a countryside feel!
It's done! The garden courtyard of the Charles Sandro schools has been delivered. All trees, shrubs and perennials were planted during the autumn.
This remarkable project integrates the needs and constraints specific to the site, identified during workshops with the students and consultation sessions with all educational stakeholders (teachers, parents, coordinators, school staff).
This new green island, at the heart of the school, delights both young and old! It combines play areas, green spaces, inclusive, natural, and cooled environments.
Each child has planted their own species at the heart of this space that everyone can make their own.
“In a few figures, the Sandro garden courtyard is 2,000 m2 of green spaces and 1,100 m2 of draining soils, more than a hundred fruit trees and shrubs and some 716 shrubs and perennials. Landscaping features have been created such as dry rivers, mounds, and trails to allow children to play differently while getting closer to nature,” explains Hervé Stassinos, the mayor of Le Pradet.
Cécile Cristol, deputy delegate for education, adds: “The schoolchildren saw their courtyard planted upon returning from the autumn holidays and will benefit from this oasis of freshness as soon as the high heat returns next summer.

107 fruit trees and shrubs and 716 shrubs and perennials have been planted there. A project co-funded between the Ville du Pradet, l'Agence de l'Eau and l'État.
