A first step into working life for young people
On November 19, Alain Dumontet, deputy in charge of youth, welcomed 24 Gardéens who validated their Pass'Points Citoyens.
Allowing young people to obtain financial assistance to move forward with their life project, while providing them with a first professional experience, is the objective of the Pass'Point Citoyen initiative. Thus, the Ville de La Garde has once again shown the interest it has in its youth.
For Alain Dumontet: "This scheme is an experience of social and professional life that brings something extra to youth. These young people have, thus, worked within the services of the Ville (municipal print shop, media library, toy library, leisure center Henri Wallon".
Blanche and Nina, twin sisters, testified to this experience which allowed them to discover the world of animation and work: "We worked at the recreation center. The contact with children, parents, and leaders was very enriching!"
TRAINING PROJECT The Pass'Point Citoyen allows teenagers and young adults aged 16 to 25 to benefit from financial aid for a training project of up to €300 (driving license, first aid training, BAFA, sports or cultural courses...) It consists of a minimum service of 40 hours and a maximum of 60 hours during the calendar year within a municipal department. It also allows participation in certain events based on a simple calculation (one hour worked is equivalent to one point worth €5).
In addition, the scheme allows them to gain professional experience to highlight on their CV.
For the municipality, this allows it to ensure the continuity of public service, during holiday periods for example. "Different municipal services are involved: leisure center Henri Wallon, municipal print shop, media library Louis Aragon, toy library, Fêtes et Cérémonies and sports departments, municipal archives, Maisons des Initiatives Sociales, Maison des associations, Maison du tourisme.
Occasionally, depending on the studies carried out by the young people, the EHPAD Le Mas des Sènes, the green spaces department, and the technical services (electricians, mechanics...) are also integrated into the scheme," specifies Alain Dumontet.
Le Pass’Point Citoyen permet aux adolescents et aux jeunes adultes de 16 à 25 ans de bénéficier d’une aide au financement pour un projet de formation à hauteur de 300€ (permis de conduire, formation aux premiers secours, BAFA, stages sportifs ou culturels...). Il consiste en un service minimum de 40h et au maximum de 60h au cours de l’année civile au sein d’un service municipal. Il permet aussi de participer à certaines manifestations selon un calcul simple (une heure travaillée équivaut à un point valant 5€). En outre, le dispositif permet d’acquérir une expérience professionnelle à mettre en avant sur leur CV. Pour la commune, cela lui permet d’assurer la continuité du service public, lors de périodes de vacances par exemple. « Différents services communaux sont concernés : centre de loisirs Henri Wallon, imprimerie municipale, ludothèque, services Fêtes et Cérémonies et des sports, archives municipales, Maisons des Initiatives Sociales, Maison des associations, Maison du tourisme. Ponctuellement selon les études réalisées par les jeunes, l’EHPAD Le Mas des Sénes, le service des espaces verts et les services techniques (électriciens, garagistes...) sont également intégrés au dispositif », précise Alain Dumontet. • médiathèque Louis Aragon,
