The City honors its great champions
As every year since 2008, the City celebrated local sports figures in front of an enthusiastic crowd during the Trophées farlédois.
During this exceptional evening, it was Christophe Laporte, Olympic medalist, iconic figure of the commune and patron of the event, who welcomed the recipients.
"It is a collective surpassing of oneself that we salute," emphasized Yves Palmieri, the mayor, with satisfaction. Since their creation, the Trophées have embodied the efforts and successes of local athletes, and the commitment of the volunteers who bring life to the clubs and associations.
This year, the program, hosted by Stéphanie Poiret, honored some thirty winners in very varied disciplines (basketball, baseball, dance, chess, cycling, pétanque, wheelchair rugby, archery, etc.) Accompanied by Alexis Collet, deputy for sports, Yves Palmieri praised these heroes of performance who shine through their exploits or their dedication to making local clubs shine, often far beyond municipal, or even departmental and national, borders.
For two hours, the athletes paraded on the podium to receive their Trophée from the hands of Christophe Laporte. The great champion had a kind word for each of them and congratulated them for their investment and commitment to the cause of sport.
Indeed, everyone's work helps to structure a dense sports and community offer for the benefit of all Farlédois.
