Humanity at the heart of Rotary Club's actions

Following the funds raised during the Chiner Chic event, the president of the Rotary Club de Hyères, Ralph Biedermann, in the presence of his assembly and Francis Roux, first deputy mayor of Hyères, presented a check for €2,000 to Hervé Nardias, director of the hôpital San Salvadour, and Virginie Cointat, pediatrician and head of the pediatric units at the hôpital San Salvadour. On this occasion, Hervé Nardias recalled: "This act of generosity is dedicated to a new pediatric unit, which opened its doors in September. The sum of €2,000 will be used to improve the daily lives of the children welcomed in this new unit, EEAP (Établissement pour Enfants et Adolescents Polyhandicapés)."

SPECIFIC BED

In concrete terms, this day-care unit welcomes children from the Hyères area during the day for various medical reasons. They benefit from physiotherapy sessions, comfort and sanitary care, and, above all, socio-educational care. Regarding the sum raised during the last Chiner Chic, Hervé Nardias specified: "The sum paid by the Rotary Club de Hyères will be dedicated to the purchase of a specific bed, an inflatable bed-tent with its accessories." Then, the director of San Salvadour, touched by this generosity, confided: "This kind of attention is heartwarming for the institution I represent, and for the teams, it is recognition from charitable, committed citizens." Not without emotion, Virginie Cointat concluded this official sequence: "There are moments in life that are wonderful, and this is one of them. When the Rotary opens the gates of San Salvadour to offer us a charitable action in favor of our patients, it is a great joy, a recognition of the work being done. We must concentrate our actions as early as possible on these children so that they can progress in their development to improve the prognosis. The pathologies of children and adults require complex care. Educational activities through play are also part of the therapeutic project."
