In the presence of: Sponsored by Floriane Foltz and Sophie Lethuin-Farge, employees of the company VINCI Autoroutes, a subsidiary of the VINCI group, the association has set up 9 studios, located in the priority neighborhood of Saint-Jean-du-Var in Toulon, and dedicated to sheltering families with children under 4 years old.

FITTING OUT OF 9 STUDIOS In Var, the Département already organizes shelter in hotels for evicted single-parent families or female victims of domestic violence, particularly those with young children. Thanks to the support of the Fortil group, l'Îlot can now reserve 9 studios to welcome women and children from a few months to 4 years old.

For this action, the corporate foundation Fondation VINCI pour la Cité made it possible to equip these 25m² studios, which have been renovated and are served by public transport. The goal is to offer shelter to these families in conditions that are dignified and conducive to their reintegration.

L'Îlot welcomes the beneficiaries and monitors their progress in the provided accommodation. At the same time, the association En Chemin, a partner in the project, provides social and professional support, including the search for permanent and sustainable housing.

According to a study by the Fondation Abbé Pierre, more than 38,000 people were evicted from their homes in France in 2023, leading to precarious accommodation in hotels, difficulties in finding a home, an impact on schooling in the case of households with children, health problems, lower self-esteem, and difficulties in professional reintegration.

By carrying out this project, the association Îlot has committed itself alongside the Conseil départemental du Var to support a different public from its usual beneficiaries: people far from employment, particularly those under judicial supervision, and young NEETs.

Thus, it wishes to strengthen its local presence and build links with State services and local authorities. • PLEASE NOTE...
