Draguignan, who "was part of this great family of elected representatives and mandate holders of the UPV, these shadow actors, of whom there are more than 700 here working voluntarily, every day, to guarantee respect for our interests. He was my friend."

PARTNERSHIPS

Looking back at the year 2024, marked nationally by an "economic and governmental roller coaster," the president mentioned several great successes, notably the creation by UPV teams of a white paper on the Quality of Life and Working Conditions, which she presented to the Minister of Labor Catherine Vautrin. Thus, the president had a thought for Philippe Poinsignon, former president of the tribunal de commerce. On the UPV's track record, the launch of the application developed with the préfecture du Var, Espace Entreprises 83, a single window for simplification, and partnerships with the Banque de France, La Poste, l’Armée, France Travail as part of the roll-out of the loi Plein Emploi, Face Var. She reported the emergence of new collaborations (60 000 Rebonds association, mairie de La Garde for the creation of an economic office, Université de Toulon for the IAE, lycée du Golfe de Saint-Tropez, etc.). Thus, in the golfe de Saint-Tropez, the UPV opened the 6th campus of its École de la 2ème Chance. Nearly 800 young people in the Var benefited from support to guide them toward employment or training in 2024. "And it is not a lack of humility to say that our École de la 2ème Chance is the most efficient in France, because it is the only one managed by an employers' organization," the president noted. In 2024, the UPV was driving the creation of the Diplôme Universitaire Service Public de la Justice économique, initiated by the president of the Tribunal de Commerce de Toulon, in partnership with the Université de Toulon, which will be renewed in 2025. Throughout the year, life at the UPV was punctuated by numerous events (Eco du Golfe, foire de Brignoles, entrepreneur day in Fréjus, Var UP in Toulon, which broke its attendance record with 3,000 people, TOP 500, which rewarded economic leaders, Trophées des entrepreneurs positifs in the Var and at the regional level, honoring business owners for their talent and audacity during a dedicated event, a debate evening on AI, business breakfasts, thematic afterworks).

ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEXITY

Numerous encounters on a human level were highlighted by Véronique Maurel, with the mayor of Toulon, Josée Massi, the director of France Travail, Angélique Ricordel Papin, national credit mediator of the Banque de France, Frédérick Visnovsky, the director general of business mediation at the ministère de l’Économie, des Finances et de l’Industrie, Nicolas Mohr, general delegate of the Pacte de l’ONU, Nils Pedersen, candidate for the presidency of the national CPME, etc. For Véronique Maurel: "The battle in question for employers' forces is all the more relevant in the face of the €20 billion in additional charges threatening our businesses, the administrative complexities that make us waste precious time, the challenges of the ecological transition, but also the digitization of documents with the arrival of standards and AI." Finally, she addressed business owners: "You can count on the UPV, on the MEDEF and CPME unions, whether at the national or local level, to watch out and warn against announcement effects, the false promises born of electoral deadlines. With €3.228 trillion in debt at the end of the 2nd half-year, it is no longer these electoral deadlines or elective ambitions that must pace our economic development, but indeed work! Freeing companies means guaranteeing sustainable economic growth for our country, it also means supporting employment. The Union Patronale du Var is both your armor and your armed wing. You need it to defend you. It needs you to continue doing so and to go to the front."
