Yann Le Bras: "Sainte Musse hospital must meet the needs of the territory"

Thus, the launch of the second coronary angiography room project, the launch of the second phase of work for the SAMU and the Service d’Accès aux Soins (SAS) with ARS funding of €1.2M, the opening of the new gynecological and obstetrical emergency department (UGO) in spring 2025, as well as the delivery of the BOB (obstetrical units) project with the creation of 2 delivery rooms and an additional physio room in the 2nd quarter of 2025. Likewise, the renewal of scanners at Sainte Musse and George Sand and the allocation of the daily investment budget provided by the ARS (€460K) to the departments to enable them to make practical investment choices closest to the ground.

HYÈRES MUST ADAPT ITS PREMISES

According to the hospital center director: "One of the major challenges of 2025 is to finalize the review of our joint CHITS-CHH Real Estate Master Plan and to see its operations approved by the ARS after joint work to ensure their technical, functional, and economic viability. Sainte Musse hospital, 12 years after its opening, must be able to meet the changing needs of the territory. It is imperative that it adapts its premises for certain activities. At George Sand hospital in Seyne-sur-Mer, developments are also necessary to continue our public healthcare mission in the west of the metropolitan area. Looking ahead 5 to 10 years, these investment operations are indispensable and, in this constrained context, we have a major need for support to achieve them."

Yann Le Bras also wished to work on teamwork and internal and external synergies with partners: "I borrow the motto of the city of Toulon 'Concordia parva crescunt', which means 'great things are achieved in harmony'. You can count on my commitment, that of the management team and governance, and as for me, my personal motto has not changed: High standards and kindness. In other times in contemporary history, there has been no shortage of constraints, sometimes even heavier, and communities and leaders designed new systems and knew how to adapt. Now it is our turn with lucidity, pragmatism, and also optimism! Here at CHITS, as a collective, with humility and determination, we met many challenges together in 2024. A year ago, we reopened our closed geriatric hospitalization beds, returned to full capacity after the post-health crisis disruptions, and relaunched activity which has increased by more than 5%, highlighting the mobilization of the teams and the trust of the population."

MEDICAL DEVELOPMENT

Detailing the actions of 2024, the director continued: "The operating suite gradually returned to full availability thanks to the work of the operating room committee and the mobilization of energy around high-demand professions. Work on quality continued with the follow-up to a high-quality care certification by the HAS, with ongoing actions and ISO certification in many sectors, and soon the external evaluation of various sectors, including the activities carried out at Clemenceau in La Garde. The vitality of our institution's medical development was confirmed with 120 interns and junior doctors welcomed during the last semesters and, in a consolidated academic manner for the psychiatric department with a territorial associate professor for the past 2 years, which is bearing full fruit in terms of teaching and research." In conclusion, the achievements have been very numerous, with some carried out as part of the joint CHITS - CHH establishment project looking ahead to 2027, which has reached its halfway mark.
