At the invitation of MP Yannick Chenevard and in the presence of François de Canson, Vice-President of the Région Sud, she met with military personnel from the armed forces and healthcare professionals of the territory. This visit was marked by several highlights. First, an immersion within the Toulon naval base, the largest in Europe, where she visited a nuclear attack submarine and the frigate Chevalier Paul, as well as an exchange with sailors and their families. Then, the afternoon was dedicated to a meeting with future beneficiaries, students and trainers from the Campus santé de Montéty (Institut de Formation Public Varois des Formations de Santé – IFPVFS) which trains the territory's future healthcare professionals.
HIGHER EDUCATION IN TOULON
On this occasion, François de Canson, representing the President, declared: 'The Region commits to health and social action. This sector plays a major role in the economic development of Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur'. (...). It was Paulin de Montéty, a marine engineering architect, who was at the origin of the creation of the Montéty working-class estate in a 19th century marked by industrialization. The goal was to provide decent living and education conditions to the workers of the time. This prompted François de Canson to say: 'Toulon will therefore have, at its extremities, two education hubs, one in Mayol with the engineering schools and the university, and a second in Chalucet in the Montety district with health professionals and business and design schools. Josy Chambon has a power! When she has a dream, she fights to see it rise from the ground, with a great deal of persuasion, and I can testify to this as Vice-President of the Region.' The regional official continued: 'But what was this dream? To gather in one single place what was scattered across multiple buildings in La Garde, thereby responding to a logic of well-being and convenience for its students and improving the operation and management of the IFPVFS. She convinced us all. She created a strike force, which made it possible to announce in 2020 the ground-breaking of what will soon no longer be a utopia. A school, and what a school' (...)! 'Concretely, the Region participated in this dream and supported it with an investment of €7.5 million voted in March 2019. Thus, nearly 2,500 pupils and students will leave the La Garde premises for a new building in the city center of Toulon for the start of the school year in September 2025. This investment is part of a real dedicated regional policy,' concluded François de Canson. •

date, there are more than 19,000 pupils and students, representing a 17% increase in numbers over 5 years, 28 training pathways preparing for a State diploma, 91 training sites in the region, a €142M budget to meet the operational needs of training institutes, €4.3M dedicated to investment and modernization of training institutions, and a 94% diploma pass rate. The sector plays a major role in the economic development of Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur because it is the region's leading employer with nearly 280,000 people, or 15% of the working population.
