Departmental COPs are an essential prerequisite for the success of ecological planning.
In the Var, two round tables "Mobility/transport" and "Sustainable building and construction in the Var" presented the local situation regarding the challenges of ecological transition, as well as an overview of the work carried out by the ecological planning working groups. Regarding housing, discussions covered eco-renovation such as that of the "Les trois sources" school group in La Garde-Freinet, bioclimatic approaches to buildings, as well as a presentation on the experience of a Var-based construction company regarding building energy management and efforts to integrate the ecological transition.
In practical terms, this means getting as close as possible to the needs and issues of local actors and drawing inspiration from initiatives already implemented on the ground, which could be scaled up more widely. The contribution of the departmental effort is characterized by the Var overview, which outlines by order of magnitude the decarbonization levers by sector of activity.
For the Var, these levers mainly concern the transport sector, which represents 38% of the department's efforts (15% for freight transport, 23% for passenger transport), as well as the building sector, which represents 23% (13% for residential, 10% for the service sector).
