Gendarmerie retirees honor Henri Bannwarth

The members and representatives of the civil and military authorities were welcomed by Henri Bannwarth, sector president, and Joseph Sinigaglia, departmental president. On this occasion, Henri Bannwarth received, with great emotion, the diploma of memorial recognition. It was Nicolas Moulin, president of the ACSPMG (Histoire et Patrimoine de la gendarmerie), accompanied by Alain Maurin and Daniel Baert, who presented him with the honorable distinction. It rewards his commitment alongside the ACSPMG and notably his dedicated work during the exhibitions, initiated as part of the 80th anniversary of the Débarquement de Provence.

200 MEMBERS AND SYMPATHIZERS

After a minute of silence in tribute to the deceased members, to the active and operational reserve personnel (gendarmes, national and municipal police officers), the members of the board presented the report (moral and financial) and the projects for 2025. Thus, the number of members and sympathizers is slightly increasing. Furthermore, the trips and meals are still as successful as ever. The work of the flag-bearer was praised, thanks to his presence at about twenty ceremonies in 2024 throughout Var. His last appearance dates back to the inauguration of the new brigade de gendarmerie de Cuers. During the debates, Henri Bannwarth thanked his board for the work accomplished throughout the year. He also welcomed the ties maintained with active personnel. He stressed that the association shines throughout the department. Indeed, rich with many members, the UNPRG du Var shines throughout Var, managing the sectors of Brignoles, Draguignan, Fréjus, Saint-Raphaël and Hyères. The Hyères sector has 200 members and sympathizers. For his part, the departmental president thanked all members for their support, as well as the Municipalities and partners. He reiterated the benefit of subscribing to « La voix du gendarme », a magazine that echoes the actions and initiatives of the UNPRG and departmental unions. Finally, Joseph Sinigaglia recalled the importance of social assistance from which widows and the most vulnerable members can benefit.

The UNPRG holds its monthly office hours on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the premises of the Comité de Coordination des Associations Patriotiques.
