"Sud-Sud-Ouest" evokes the artistic career of Alexandra Deman, a former screenwriter turned painter, who draws her inspiration from her roots and memories. The South, her home port in Hyères where she has a studio facing the sea, and the West, where she grew up between La Rochelle and l'île de Ré, are central elements of her work. Although she lived in Paris, the sea remains a constant in her life, a mental horizon and a source of escape.

The exhibition presents two series of watercolors on paper, including the Panoramiques series, inspired by cinematic framing. "I like to express the dissonances of my inner landscapes – gentleness and nervousness, calm and explosion of energy, which combine on the surface of the paper," she explains.

Her work is characterized by constant movement, an artistic style that evolves with her. "Artistic creation is not a fixed style, it is a process," adds Alexandra, claiming her freedom to explore new creative paths.

Alexandra's previous exhibitions, notably "Méditerranée" at the Vieux Salins d'Hyères and at the Galerie Circa in Arles, were well received, and the public of the galerie Cravéro is eager to discover her recent works.
