La Hyèroise 2025 in tribute to Philippe Bettoni
Sunday, March 30 marks the start of the cycle touring season for Vélo Sport Cyclo Hyèrois (VSCH).

This 2025 edition will be dedicated to Philippe Bettoni, who suddenly passed away last summer. Philippe worked for many years on the organization and smooth running of this event. His passing leaves a gaping wound within the club, which now wishes to associate his name with this ride by naming it "Souvenir Philippe Bettoni". A club member since 1999, he was always a major player in the club's activities and contributed through his dynamism to the development of the VSCH, which has had over a hundred members for years. Philippe also invested a lot of time in training to become an instructor. This allowed him to supervise numerous trips and to participate in creating the club's cycling school, which gathers young cyclists every Saturday. He also supervised the women's touring trips during several travels (Toutes à Strasbourg in 2016, Tous ensemble à Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games). Philippe also lent his skills and availability to supervising the two annual trips that the club organizes in Collobrières for cycle tourists from all over France. Personally, he participated in two Paris-Brest-Paris events as well as many other long-distance rides, notably the Brevet des Randonneurs Mondiaux (BRM), the Brevet des Randonneurs Alpins (BRA), etc. He also practiced mountain biking with enthusiasm. This is why a vibrant tribute will be paid to him on Sunday, March 30 during this memorial event dedicated to him. On that day, participants on the various routes (45, 70, and 11 km) will be welcomed with warmth and good humor. Note a new feature for this 2025 edition, as the VSCH is also offering a Gravel route for those who like to combine paved roads and forest paths. All cycle tourists, whether club members or not, are warmly welcome and will find a route to their liking
