The Centre de Supervision Urbain, a major turning point for security

STRATEGIC TOOL

The mayor adds: "The CSU is located within the municipal police headquarters, recently restored thanks to the dotation de soutien à l’investissement local (DSIL). Thus, the State contributed €50,400 towards the renovation of the building. This new strategic video protection tool is part of a comprehensive approach to modernizing urban infrastructure and optimizing security measures." The creation of the CSU is accompanied by strong actions taken by the City to prevent risks, fight against anti-social behavior, and protect public spaces, and it plays a central role in this proactive policy. For example, it makes it possible to strengthen the fight against anti-social behavior, protect public facilities, prevent security breaches, and regulate road traffic. "Thanks to this new infrastructure, La Valette-du-Var asserts more than ever its desire to offer its residents a safe and serene living environment, while strengthening its prevention and urban risk management systems," insists Thierry Albertini.

The implementation of the CSU was made possible thanks to in-depth work initiated last year by the City to modernize its network and enable a better connection of equipment, in particular video protection cameras with the municipal police headquarters. "The installation of the CSU is based on the gradual deployment of video protection cameras since 2019. 21 cameras have been added to the 31 already installed, in consultation with the comités d'intérêt local (CIL) and strategically installed in sensitive areas, bringing their number to 52 to date, spread across 30 new strategic locations: schools, public buildings, parks, gardens, main roads, and residential neighborhoods. For a cost of nearly €299,000, this expansion of the video protection system was accompanied by the deployment of dark fiber across the entire territory as part of the GFU-FON THD83 project," the mayor further specifies. With an investment of nearly €40,000, the CSU becomes a central supervision station allowing real-time monitoring of the municipality's strategic points, coordination of interventions thanks to an agent geolocation system, and improved management of emergency and crisis situations, notably through the Plan Communal de Sauvegarde (PCS). A playback and image extraction room is also made available to investigators for judicial requisitions, ensuring efficient use of the data without disrupting the center's activities.
