Created in December 2023, the Fondation de l'Eau Groupama Méditerranée acts to address water-related issues, both fresh and salt, in the méditerranéenne region, which is particularly vulnerable to climate change. This philanthropic structure, endowed with €500,000, aims to enable the company to contribute to the preservation of the resource and is committed to supporting actions in the méditerranéen territory, led by general interest actors in the professional water sphere.
PROXIMITY AND SOLIDARITY For Romain Tanguy, Director General of Groupama Méditerranée: "The Caisse régionale Groupama Méditerranée, committed to its members, families, and territories across a wide diversity of risks, regularly faces climate hazards. It therefore seemed obvious to address water issues, where this resource is a daily concern. In continuity with our CSR approach and our mutualist values, we wanted to go further, by extending our action to the field of philanthropy, through the creation of our own Fondation d'entreprise, complemented by a Fonds de dotation."

These philanthropic structures, shielded from the company's timelines and fluctuations, make it possible to carry our values of proximity and solidarity, by supporting local project leaders and mobilizing employees, members, and partners around this cause of general interest."
LASTING IMPACT At the same time, the Fonds Clapoty, oriented towards the general public, extends this commitment through fundraising for collective action, and finances large-scale projects with an educational purpose, involving partner sponsors. In 2024, the Fondation de l'Eau and the Fonds Clapoty supported 8 high-impact projects in the méditerranéenne region, illustrating a comprehensive and complementary approach. These initiatives tackle major challenges such as wastewater reuse, the preservation of aquatic ecosystems, scientific innovation, education for the professional water world, with the Fondation de l'Eau, or raising awareness among citizens and future generations, with the Fonds Clapoty.
In 2025, the Fondation de l'Eau continues its support by focusing on projects related to hydro-climatic risks. For its part, the Fonds will strengthen its fundraising to deploy its educational initiatives.
