Bernard Jacquet, Grand Maître of the Commanderie du Rameau d’Argent, is a passionate man, defending Water and Olive Trees in service of the land.
PLEASE NOTE... A committed retiree and fervent admirer of the olive tree, he continues to cultivate his passion for nature and agriculture. Co-founder of the Commanderie du Rameau d'Argent, created in December 1981 alongside former mayor Maurice Delplace, he has gathered around him a community of 124 members from various backgrounds, ranging from mayors to notaries, as well as farmers.
SINCERE ATTACHMENT As Grand Maître, Bernard Jacquet embodies the spirit of solidarity and sharing that drives its members. His love for the olive tree is reflected in his ownership of an olive grove of 350 olive trees, a testament to his attachment to the land and its riches. This man does not just cultivate his own olive trees; he also invests himself in raising awareness about the importance of water and sustainable agriculture.
His commitment to environmental preservation and the promotion of agricultural traditions makes him a respected and admired figure within the community.
Through his actions and dedication, he reminds everyone of the importance of love for the land and nature, essential values for future generations. Over the years. PROVENÇALE CULTURE The association's statutes aim to promote and highlight olive trees, olives, and olive oil, as well as provençale cuisine and products. The Commanderie is committed to raising awareness of the customs and traditions that link these products to the folklore of France and Provence.
As a spokesperson for olive and olive oil producers, it extends over the departments of Var, Alpes-Maritimes, and Bouches-du-Rhône.
In 1982, the Commanderie celebrated the induction of its first Chevaliers in Belgentier, marking the beginning of a tradition that continues. The members, inducted during a Chapitre, take a solemn oath to defend the Provence olive tree. These Chevaliers, true ambassadors of the Commanderie, are at the heart of its dynamism, supported by passionate volunteers.
The Chapitres, inspired by medieval assemblies, are key moments where new Chevaliers are welcomed with rigorous protocol. Each inductee receives an olive tree as a welcome gift, a symbol of life and prosperity. These ceremonies take place in various locations, ranging from Alpes-Maritimes to Rhône, and have seen more than 1,120 Chevaliers pass through over the years.
The Commanderie continues to organize events to review its activities and strengthen its ties with its members. Over the decades, it has adapted and evolved while remaining faithful to its values: preserving and promoting the olive-growing heritage of Provence.
Today, the Commanderie is more than just a simple association. It is a living link between the Chevaliers and a symbol of attachment to provençale culture. Through its Chapitres and actions, it continues to celebrate the olive tree, this iconic tree that embodies peace and harmony.
