Les Lucioles, an innovative project

PLEASE NOTE... A session to take stock of an ambitious and innovative project that marks a turning point in the way reception facilities for toddlers are designed.

With modernity and ecology in mind, the Ville is innovating with a building that highlights bio-sourced materials of French production. The works amount to €2,632,531 excl. tax, funded by subsidies from various institutional actors.

BRIGHT SETTING As the first magistrate pointed out: "La Garde is innovating with a building designed in wood. This structure is at the forefront of new-generation functional constructions where environment rhymes with well-being.

Located opposite the future urban park, this eco-responsible nursery will blend into its natural environment. It combines innovative architectural elements such as photovoltaic panels, a geothermal heat pump, a double-flow CMV, rainwater harvesting, and a recycling center to promote resource management."

With an area of 560 m², the venue benefits from natural light, while being protected from direct sunlight. The resting areas, essential for children's well-being, are equipped with small openings for gentle ventilation. The large bay windows are protected by wide roof overhangs, allowing gentle light to be enjoyed throughout the day, without overheating.

"The layout has been designed to ensure maximum safety and preserve children's peace of mind. There is thus no view from the public space, which helps maintain a calm and serene environment. The central patio, which links the different areas, creates a real living space where light and vegetation mingle to offer an environment conducive to awakening," Hélène Arnaud-Bill continues.

FULFILLMENT The nursery meets the development and awakening needs of toddlers. Every detail, from the floor to the furniture, has been designed to create a soft and harmonious setting. The nursery encourages awareness of environmental protection, while promoting imagination, creativity, self-expression, and free exploration, taking into account each child's own pace.

Children will be invited to participate, while benefiting from a stimulating space for sensory discovery. The premises, close to the Zunino 1 and 2 nursery and elementary schools, will be a place where the young Gardéens can grow up peacefully.
