“Un Choc Pour La Vie” at Lycée Costebelle

Thus, in 2025, for its 18th edition, this “Un choc pour la vie dans les lycées du Var” action is organized in 10 high schools in the department for nearly 2,800 students from Var, raising awareness of road risks.
This action is funded as part of the plan départemental d'actions de sécurité routière du Var (PDASR) by the State and the Département. At Lycée Costebelle, an educational reconstruction of an accident based on a real event was presented to the students by Pascal and Laurence Dragotto (Société Drag Auto Pub), professional road risk drivers. Then, the firefighters of the SDIS83 followed with a demonstration of an emergency intervention to rescue victims that such an accident could generate.

THE MSR-VAR WORKSHOPS: Five educational workshops were offered to all classes: 1. “Road safety, why?”, led by the police nationale and the MSR.
2. “Vulnerability on 2 Wheels”, led by the MSR-Var. 3.
“Reacting in the event of an accident” led by the trainer firefighters of the SDIS83. 4. “Accident study”, led by Pascal and Laurence DRAGOTTO.
5. “Surviving the road” led by volunteer Intervenants départementaux de sécurité routière (IDSR) who are road accident victims.
These initiatives reached all audiences: • 14 initiatives targeting middle school students, including 13 as part of the “Challenge Inter-Collèges”. • 12 initiatives targeting high school students, including 9 as part of the “Un Choc Pour La Vie” operation. • 12 initiatives targeting motorcyclists.
• 9 “general public” initiatives. • 49 initiatives targeting the professional environment. • 47 initiatives targeting children (loan of the Piste-Vélo).
• 42 initiatives targeting young people (mission locale, PJJ, SNU, école de la 2ème chance). • 1 initiative targeting students (FAC de droit). • 8 initiatives in prisons.
• 9 initiatives targeting seniors.
• 5 initiatives targeting the IME les Dauphins, the ESAT les palmiers and the pôle médico-social de Seillans.
