The start of the school year in 2026 will mark a turning point for students in Le Pradet with the opening of the brand new Marcel Pagnol school complex. This ambitious project, supported by the municipality, aims to provide a modern, sustainable, and secure learning environment for more than 300 children, starting from its very first school year. Addressing parents, Hervé Stassinos, the mayor, thanked them for their patience throughout the works: 'This project is structural for the municipality.

It is the realization of an ambition we have for our young Pradétans, which is to offer them the ideal school to achieve their potential, flourish, and become the citizens of tomorrow. To you, dear parents, I would like to thank you for your patience during the construction. I am aware that this may have caused some concern, but I also know that your little ones have acclimated perfectly and that it will remain an unprecedented experience in their schooling that they will still talk about in a few years.'

A PROJECT IN FULL DEVELOPMENT On March 8, Hervé Stassinos, accompanied by Cécile Cristol, deputy mayor in charge of education and family, and Jean-Claude Véga, deputy mayor in charge of works, invited parents to visit the construction site of the future school complex. This morning was an opportunity to discover the significant progress of the works and to better understand the quality and ambition of the project. The warm welcome from parents and children was a great success.

Due to high demand, a new visit session has been scheduled for late March to allow as many people as possible to discover the construction site. The future Marcel Pagnol school complex is designed with sustainability in mind. It has been certified 'Bâtiment Durable Méditerranéen' at the Silver level, guaranteeing environmentally friendly construction.

The building, constructed with Provence stone from the village of Oppède (Vaucluse), will integrate into the landscape while meeting new educational, environmental, safety, and accessibility standards for all. The presence of 137 trees and multi-stem trees, as well as vast green spaces in the preschool (410 m²) and elementary (680 m²) playgrounds, will create an environment conducive to the children's development. Photovoltaic panels and vegetable planters are also being installed to promote better resource management.

PLEASE NOTE... KEY FIGURES OF THE PROJECT: • Area: 10,000 m². • 16 classrooms: 7 for preschools and 9 for elementary schools.

• 2 multi-purpose rooms. • 1 park and a multi-sports field. • 1 cafeteria building.
