The Métropole TPM partnered in 2024 with the Centrale d'Achat du Transport Public (CATP), which brings its expertise and purchasing power for an acquisition project of 95 vehicles between 2025 and 2027, budgeted in a Plan Pluriannuel d'Investissement (PPI) of €60.31 million.

Committed to energy transition and improving the passenger experience, the Métropole TPM and the réseau Mistral presented the 6 electric buses of the vehicle fleet. This new 100% electric bus marks a significant step forward in the commitment to more environmentally friendly mobility. Deployed on line 15 in Toulon, between the bas-Faron and the place de la Liberté, these 6 electric buses save the territory 225 tonnes of CO2 per year, benefiting air quality and more sustainable mobility.

This acquisition foreshadows a vast electrification plan for the réseau Mistral between 2025 and 2027.

PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGY "44 of them will be electric, for €24.36 million, meaning 4 minibuses for the Transport de Personnes à Mobilité Réduite (TPMR), 12 electric minibuses, 14 standard 12-meter buses, and 8 articulated 18-meter vehicles," announced Geneviève Levy, vice-president of Toulon Provence Méditerranée for Mobilities.

The electric GX 137, designed by HEULIEZ, is an innovative vehicle with an all-electric engine, ensuring a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and noise pollution. This model, equipped with latest-generation batteries, offers optimal range to ensure a reliable and efficient service throughout the day. With a modern and ergonomic design, it offers optimized space for passenger well-being.

Its low floor facilitates accessibility for people with reduced mobility, while its spacious and bright interior guarantees a pleasant travel experience.

A 100% ELECTRIC LINE The acquisition of these vehicles is part of the strategy of the Métropole and the réseau Mistral to reduce its carbon footprint, modernize its fleet with sustainable transport solutions, and fits into a global dynamic of clean mobility development. Line 15 meets the ideal conditions for integrating electric buses. With a steady frequency of 15 minutes, it is served by 4 vehicles totaling 160,000 kilometers per year, in the heart of the city of Toulon through highly frequented neighborhoods.

Its demanding route, with slopes reaching 32%, highlights the performance of electric powertrains, which are particularly suited to this type of route.

In addition to reducing CO2 and fine particle emissions in the city center, these quieter buses improve passenger comfort and the quality of life for local residents.
