Students took up the long-duration cross-country challenge

The races took place at the stade Castellan where children from the municipality's three schools competed in an atmosphere of friendliness and sporting challenge. Agnès Biasutto, deputy mayor of Le Pradet, delegate for sport, highlighted the importance of this event: "Long-distance running is an activity that consists of running for a long time by pacing one's efforts and modulating one's energy to achieve a performance: running long and fast! It requires taking into account two elements that are difficult to reconcile: duration and intensity."

DEVELOPING SPORTING PRACTICE

She added: "The aim of this event is to develop sporting practice among young people, to encourage encounters between students from different schools, but also to strengthen social and civic skills. It is an opportunity for children to set goals and take up the challenge while learning to manage their effort and build their endurance." The races were a real success, bearing witness to the commitment and motivation of all participants: the students, parents, as well as the headteachers and teachers who supported their teams. This type of event is a way to promote physical activity and a fine example of solidarity and fair play.
