Public inquiry into the high-level service bus (BHNS) project of the Métropole
The préfet du Var announced the public inquiry for the high-level service bus (BHNS) project, led by the Métropole Toulon...
The route extends over 28 km and includes 58 stations, serving the communes of La Seyne-sur-Mer, Ollioules, Toulon, La Valette-du-Var and La Garde. The préfet ordered by decree a public inquiry, from May 26 to June 25, 2025, which is conducted by a commission composed of three inquiry commissioners. This inquiry constitutes a preliminary step before the préfet issues the declaration of public utility for the project. The file can be consulted throughout the duration of the inquiry: • on the digital register: https://www.registre-dematerialise.fr/6182 • in paper format at the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée and the Maison de la Mobilité, in the town halls of Ollioules, La Seyne-sur-Mer, Toulon, La Valette-du-Var and La Garde, • on a computer terminal at the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée and the Maison de la Mobilité, in the town halls of Ollioules, la Seyne-sur-Mer, Toulon, la Valette-du-Var and la Garde. Public observations and proposals on the project can be submitted and information requested throughout the inquiry. At the end of this phase, the préfet will rule on the public utility of the operation, thus allowing the start of the first phase of the works, scheduled before December 31, 2025. This deadline is imperative in order not to lose the significant subsidy allocated in 2021 by the State to this structuring project, which aims to significantly improve the public transport offer, thereby contributing to strongly accelerating the ecological transition in the TPM territory. The State subsidy, in the amount of €40 million, awarded for the project as a whole, will be paid based on the progress of the different phases of the route (5 in total), with the aim of seeing the completion of the entire operation in order to promote an efficient and consistent service offering across the territory- across the territory.
