Var shines in the national Orange used mobile phone collection challenge
Le Pradet leads the municipalities of Var!

Var is on the digital recycling podium as the Association des Maires du Var (AMF 83) secured 2nd place in the national used mobile phone collection challenge launched by Orange and the Association des Maires de France (AMF). And it is the Ville du Pradet that stood out by being the most active in Var in this initiative supporting the circular economy.
EXEMPLARY MOBILIZATION

This challenge, initiated during the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales in November 2024, aims to raise awareness among local authorities and citizens about the environmental impact of electronic waste, while encouraging recycling. In 4 months, more than 13,000 mobile phones were collected nationwide. On April 17, a ceremony rewarded the efforts of Var municipalities. On this occasion, Jean-Pierre Véran, mayor of Cotignac and president of the AMF 83, and Hervé Stassinos, mayor of Le Pradet, received the second national prize from Olivier Daguillon, Var Orange regional director, and Fabienne Druenne-Pierrot, CSR director of Orange France. To mark this environmental commitment, two trees and two shrubs were planted in the parc Cravéro in Le Pradet. Beyond the performance, this action aims to reduce the digital carbon footprint by giving a second life to phones lying dormant in our drawers. Each collected mobile joins the solidarity network set up by Orange, in partnership with Les Ateliers du Bocage, an integration company based in Deux-Sèvres.
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
