Commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory of 8 May 1945
The Préfet du Var presided in Toulon over the ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the Victory of 8 May 1945, with civil and military authorities.

After a gathering of the authorities at the place d'Armes and a visit on the place d'Armes of the exhibition of World War II vehicles, the procession departed from the place d'Armes. Then, civil and military authorities laid wreaths in front of the Jean Moulin plaque at the police station and in front of the Association Rhin et Danube plaque, at the corner of avenue Vauban and boulevard de Strasbourg.
Next, the ceremony continued at the place Gabriel Péri where an awarding of decorations and a reading of texts by students from schools in Toulon took place.
At the end, the préfet du Var read the message from the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Armed Forces, responsible for veterans and memory.
The ceremony ended with the laying of wreaths at the war memorial, place Gabriel Péri.
At the end of the ceremony, civil and military authorities visited the photography exhibition, from the Archives municipales de la Ville de Tour and dedicated to the first anniversary of the Liberation of Toulon.
