The bookstore Mille Paresses, an essential player in cultural life
It has already been 10 years since the municipality enthusiastically welcomed the Mille Paresses bookstore.

From the very opening, the Pradétanes and Pradétans responded present. The very next day, Hervé Stassinos, the mayor, came to welcome the municipality's first bookstore, passionately run by Hélène, Sigrid, and Pierre-Yves. A welcome that foreshadowed beautiful moments.
BEAUTIFUL ENCOUNTERS

And moments there were over these ten years! With meetings, writing workshops, creative workshops, read-aloud sessions, dozens and dozens of book signings, starting with that of their godfather, the illustrator Pica, followed by those of Maylis de Kérangal, Audrey Pulvar, Tania de Montaigne, Sophie de Baere, Marion Kaplan, Sarah Briand, Karine Giebel, Serge Scotto, Frédéric Couderc, Grégoire Delacourt, Olivier Bal, Éric Giacometti, Jérémy Fel, Marie Tibi, Miguel Bonnefoy, Léonore Confino, Claude Ardid, René Frégni... and many others. Ten years also punctuated by numerous events, including two children's book fairs, organized in the parc Cravero, as part of "Partir en Livres", in 2017 and 2018, and a participation in the "Fête du Livre du Var", as an exhibitor in November 2017. An event that the booksellers happily renew each year. Or the creation, in 2023, of the Festival Lire Au Pradet (FLAP), in collaboration with the Ville and the association "Lire Au Pradet". This festival, whose third edition has just ended, brought together more than 40 authors around conferences, workshops, meetings, shows, and debates.
PRECIOUS LOYALTY
The booksellers have also forged strong ties with the "Ateliers de l’Étreinte" and the "Festival Équinoxe". Not to mention a few appearances in the media, notably on Télé Matin for the booksellers' column (sadly discontinued since), on the radio with the monthly literary show "Dans l’oreille d’un chat", in which Hélène shares her favorites on RCF Méditerranée, or the literary columns of Pierre-Yves broadcast monthly in the show "Sous la plage y’a des pavés" on Radio Active 100FM. These ten years flew by at full speed (14 years in reality) since Mille Paresses was created in 2011 in Carqueiranne, founded by Hélène Pinel and her husband Pascal. On April 24, over a friendly drink, their clientele and Hervé Stassinos thanked them for their presence, which warmed their hearts. But, grateful, the bookselling couple assures: "It is up to us to say thank you for your unwavering support, your tokens of friendship, and your precious loyalty."
