Indeed, the bakery "Le Fournil d'Emy", run by the talented artisan Damien Maillot, won first place in the competition for the best traditional baguette in Var. DYNAMIC BAKER The competition, organised every year by the Syndicat des patrons boulangers du Var, is a flagship event for the department's bakers. It aims to promote the know-how of French artisans through a strict and rigorous competition. This year, more than 36 bakeries participated, all determined to win this prestigious title.

Damien Maillot, a dynamic and passionate artisan baker, received his prestigious award from Hervé Stassinos, mayor of Le Pradet, in the presence of Éric Migliaccio, president of the Syndicat des Boulangers et Pâtissiers du Var, and Roland Rolfo, president of the Chambre des Métiers du Var. This moment was an opportunity to hail the hard work and commitment of Damien, who puts his know-how at the service of quality and authenticity every day. This first place is also the culmination of many years of meticulous work and a constant passion for artisanal baking.

Far from resting on his laurels, Damien Maillot continues to innovate and maintain high quality standards, thus attracting ever more local customers and food lovers who come to taste the famous traditional baguette. To achieve this excellent result, he works with a 100% regional flour made in the Alpes de Haute Provence and with wheat coming solely from farmers in the région Sud. The residents of Le Pradet can be proud to savour every day the products of an artisan whose reputation continues to grow.

A jury of professionals: The jury, composed of trade professionals and consumers, had the complex task of evaluating the baguettes on several criteria: general appearance, texture and, of course, taste. The products are judged under anonymous conditions and the selection process is governed by precise rules, notably regarding the size and weight of the baguettes, in order to guarantee perfect fairness among the candidates.
