On this occasion, around thirty local and departmental structures were present to inform, support and create links with people with disabilities, their families, but also caregivers. The goal of the meeting was to facilitate access to information and encourage encounters between the different actors in the disability field, as highlighted by Hélène Bill, mayor of La Garde, during her opening speech: "Establishing contacts, breaking disabled people and families out of their isolation, that is the essential role of this type of event. It is an obstacle course for most of them, who do not know which door to knock on to get help."

PRACTICAL GUIDE The forum shed light on the diversity of support systems, whether administrative, medical, educational support or adapted leisure activities. The emphasis was placed on the crucial role of caregivers, who are often on the front line and faced with a demanding and sometimes unrecognized daily life.

The event was also part of a broader inclusion approach led by the municipality, notably through the development of adapted sports in several of the city's sports clubs. "We must change how we look at disability," insisted Mme Bill, thanking local associations for their commitment.

Among the key announcements of the day was the publication of a support booklet for families. This practical guide will bring together a multitude of useful contacts, making procedures easier for the people concerned.

A highly anticipated initiative, welcomed by participants as a concrete and reassuring tool.
