This certification rewards the establishments for their quality, environmental, and sustainable development approach. The requirements of the THQSE quality label are notably based on ISO 26000, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the recommendations of the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS). The maternity ward of the Sainte Musse hospital was awarded the Gold label with a score of 90%, and the Hyères maternity ward was awarded the Silver label with a score of 87%.
This distinction shows that the commitment of the teams is rewarded. Thus, special attention is paid to respecting the birth plan. Both maternity wards are oriented towards respecting natural childbirth and the birth plan, and offer physiological monitoring including complementary methods such as Résonance Énergétique par stimulation cutanée (RESC) or acupuncture.
HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT Furthermore, the Var hospitals provide a healthy environment for mother and child. The teams organize awareness workshops on eco-friendly practices to adopt, such as giving a bath every other day. A mapping of household and care products has made it possible to eliminate certain products within the establishments, such as for the pre-operative shower, by prioritizing the use of water and soap.
Upon their arrival and during their stay, parents are made aware of eco-friendly actions, notably with recycling bins for baby bottles, paper, and packaging made available in the department. Special attention is paid to raising awareness and using substances without endocrine disruptors within the departments, as well as upon returning home.
Another positive point: Ethical and sustainable resource management. The circular economy applies within the maternity wards with responsible purchasing (bread, pastries, and vegetables bought locally). This label testifies to the commitment of all the teams, who are thanked on this occasion.
The Toulon maternity ward (level 2B) works in conjunction with the Neonatologie department, which includes an inpatient and intensive care unit. This organization makes it possible to care for premature newborns from 30 weeks of amenorrhea (SA), of low birth weight (from 1,500 grams), or presenting health problems. The maternity ward has 42 comfortable private rooms and 6 mother-child rooms with the Kangourou device to avoid mother-child separation.
A Mobile Neonatal Unit reduces the hospital stay of premature babies by offering a return home under medical supervision, where neonatology professionals visit the parents.
It allows civil status registration on site and offers breastfeeding consultations. For its part, the Hyères maternity ward (level 1) manages physiological pregnancies and deliveries from 36 weeks of amenorrhea (SA). If needed, the teams collaborate with the pediatrics department located on the 4th floor of the establishment as well as with the anesthetist team and the operating theater 24 hours a day.
The maternity ward consists of 17 private rooms and one double room, a natural birthing room, and offers breastfeeding consultations.
