Terre de Provence, a living tribute to Southern traditions
With the 4th edition of "Terre de Provence", the City celebrated its attachment to Provençal identity.
A must-attend event dedicated to promoting heritage, culture, craftsmanship, and the traditions of Provence. More than just a festival, "Terre de Provence" is an immersion into the soul of the region, where ancestral know-how, language, music, dance, and gastronomy meet in a friendly and authentic atmosphere. On the agenda: a costumed parade, a Provençal bravade, discovery workshops for the Provençal language, craft workshops, folk performances, and a local producers' market showcasing today's artisans. In short, a day to discover the customs of yesteryear and pass on the richness of a unique cultural heritage to new generations. Thus, La Garde asserts its role as guardian of traditions and demonstrates its commitment to preserving Provençal culture, while offering a festive and family-friendly gathering open to everyone. Max Bauer, president of the Coordination Rurale du Var et de Paca, took pleasure in sharing this pleasant and festive event: "I am a fervent defender of traditions. I remain full of admiration for the people who invest themselves in demonstrating the trades of yesteryear, the games of old, and seeing children and their parents putting their mobile phones on pause. Others liven things up and parade in costumes during folk dance and song shows. Even the Sunday mass was punctuated by shots from the blunderbusses of the bravadeurs, dressed in traditional garments of Provence. The bravade testifies to our attachment to our history, blending faith, fervor, and conviviality. For future generations, we must be the guardians of these traditions in order to remain true to our roots and our values."
