In front of a packed room, Hervé Stassinos, the mayor, accompanied by the architect in charge of the project, unveiled the main outlines of an ambitious and necessary project. CONSULTATION WORK This transformation project is the result of consultation work carried out with port users and neighborhood residents. The objective is to reconcile safety, respect for uses, and the enhancement of the site's natural, Provençal, and family heritage.

During the meeting, many questions were asked by the public. The mayor and the architect answered them with transparency, specifying that the project is still subject to change to take into account the expectations and remarks of the citizens. Overall, it received a favorable reception.

The mayor stressed the imperative nature of this work: "What must be noted as a priority is indeed that these works are mandatory. This involves securing and bringing the dikes and quays into compliance to fight against the risk of marine submersion, notably with the reinforcement of the dike and the reshaping of the roundhead," declared Hervé Stassinos. The elected official added: "We will also take the opportunity to beautify this small port while preserving its Provençal character and its family spirit."

THE MAIN AXES OF THE PROJECT The redevelopment project is based on several pillars, aiming to preserve the identity of the site while adapting it to contemporary challenges. It must allow the enhancement of the port's uses (boating, navigation, safety) and the securing of the body of water and the swimming area. The project promotes the preservation of the family spirit of the plage des Oursinières, while the redevelopment of the port will be carried out in a spirit of peacefulness.

The work will lead to moving the Capitainerie to "give the sea back to the sea" and creating cool islands, green spaces, and natural shade. The town has also planned the development of a friendly and secure pedestrian promenade, the installation of bicycle and two-wheel parking, and the creation of PRM parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles. Finally, the project advocates the preservation of the port's Provençal aesthetic and ensures the retention of the name of the Capitainerie "Pierre Ségony".

Furthermore, the Municipality is committed to preserving several infrastructures and traditions essential to local life, notably keeping the number of boat berths unchanged, though all will be secured against winter swells, and maintaining the same area of parking spaces. Likewise, the boat ramp is preserved, as are the pétanque courts, the careening area, PRM accessibility to the beach, and the maintenance of the traditional Fête de la Saint-Pierre.
