L’Escale, your cultural journey starts here!

This autumn, a new venue dedicated to culture opens its doors in La Garde. At the end of May, Hélène Arnaud-Bill, mayor of La Garde, accompanied by the municipal team, revealed the name of the theater and the first scheduled dates. It will be L’Escale! In an effort to strengthen its cultural offering and enrich the artistic life of the region, La Garde is reaching a new milestone with the opening of a modern and ambitious 350-seat theater, fully managed by the municipality. This project, supported by the Ville for several years, is now in its finalization phase. In her opening speech, Hélène Arnaud-Bill spoke with great emotion: 'It is with great emotion and immense pride that we reveal to you today the proposed name for your city's future theater: L’Escale. L’Escale is much more than a name. It is an invitation to travel, to discover, to escape through culture. A place where everyone can take a pause, marvel, reflect, dream. A place where we choose to imagine horizons, where others draw borders. Thank you to everyone for your commitment, your enthusiasm, and for being so many to show us your support. Together, let us continue building this cultural venue that reflects you and brings us together. I already invite you to join us on September 5 to discover the 2025-2026 cultural season.'

A VENUE WITH A REGIONAL VOCATION

The theater, designed to offer a varied and high-quality program, stands out for its exceptional dimensions. With its large stage and a ceiling height of 9 meters, it can host large-scale performances, whether classical or contemporary theater, dance, music, circus, comedy, magic, or shows for young audiences. This venue is above all an ambitious project aiming to offer an enriching cultural experience for all audiences in the region. 'L’Escale will be a true center of creation and artistic innovation. It will offer a multidisciplinary program (theater, dance, music, circus, comedy, young audiences) to reach a wide public. Accessible to all, it will offer adapted rates and facilities for people with disabilities. It will support artists by offering them a space of expression, foster cultural synergies with the media library and the gallery « La Galerie G », and play a role in professional training for live performance professions,' stressed Martine Blanc, deputy mayor delegate for culture. Right from the opening, the new theater promises a varied and high-quality program, including classical and contemporary theater, concerts, dance, circus, Christmas musical, cine-concerts, comedy, and shows for young people. More than 30 performances are planned, with public rehearsals, special school sessions, and double shows to guarantee access for the greatest number of people. The theater aims to make spectators dream, marvel, and open up to new artistic horizons.
