A transformed, expanded Town Hall looking to the future

François de Canson welcomed the achievement: "It is with great pride and emotion that we gather to inaugurate together an emblematic site of our municipality: our Town Hall, transformed, expanded, modernized". Everyone celebrated the completion of a project "as ambitious as it is exemplary".

THREE PHASES

Launched in March 2022, the work initially focused on the energy renovation of the historic building. In September 2023, the demolition of the annex town hall made way for the start of an extension, connected to the main building by a footbridge. The interior fittings, carried out from June to August 2024, allowed services to return, while the renovation of the facades was completed in February 2025. On June 7, surrounded by Simon Babre, préfet du Var, local elected officials, institutional partners, and residents, the mayor recalled: "The ambition of this project was to create a public space that is warmer, more functional, and more environmentally friendly." It benefited from exemplary funding and partners. Thus, the budget reached €2.8m, 70% co-funded (€1.99m) by the State, the Région Sud, the Département, and Méditerranée Porte des Maures. Atelier R+4, the project manager, and a dozen local businesses carried out the work with an environmental quality approach. The mayor also praised an exemplary collective commitment. "Just like in sports, we play as a team. We need a boss, of course – and that is my role –, but an indispensable team spirit is required," emphasized François de Canson, who thanked Gérard Aubert, Nicole Schatzkine, Jean Louis Arcamone, Olivier Fiore, and all department heads for operational coordination and site supervision. He added: "The town hall is closely and unshakeably linked to the daily life of citizens: birth registrations, marriages, voting, administrative procedures, and municipal memory. Today, we are not just inaugurating a building. We are celebrating an ambition: that of a local public service that is clearer, more efficient, and more human," he continued.

HIGH STANDARDS AND DIALOGUE

In concrete terms, a broader dynamic. The renovation adds to the Oswald and Moulin Vieux schools, the Maison France Services (96% satisfaction rate), the Bormettes (opening 2027), and the €26.5m PAPI to protect the Maravenne and Pansard coastal rivers. "Our uniqueness – our trademark – is the choice of responsibility, reason, high standards, and dialogue," concluded the mayor. This new Town Hall embodies these values: a stable and human landmark, serving all residents, ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. •

FOR USERS:

Surface area increased by +156%: 485 m2 ----->1,240 m2. Eight municipal services now grouped on a single site. Full accessibility, particularly for people with reduced mobility. 60% less energy consumption thanks to insulation, high-performance ventilation and air conditioning, and smart energy management.
