The City celebrates its sports champions

Whether they shone at the departmental, regional, national, or even international level, dozens of athletes were rewarded for their performances, in the presence of the city's elected officials and the sponsors, high-level athletes from La Valette. The mayor, Thierry Albertini, emphasized the importance of this event: "Tonight, we honor those who make La Valette-du-Var vibrate through their commitment, their passion, and their achievements. With 70 sports associations and more than 6,000 registered members, our municipality can be proud of its sporting vitality."

The City actively continues its support for the sporting world with an operating grant of €324,000 dedicated to associations, more than €1 million invested in our equipment, a new synthetic pitch and LED lighting at the Angelin-Segond stadium, the renovation of the parquet floors at the COSEC, and soon, the rehabilitation of the Rougiers stadium and the surrounding neighborhood." RENOWNED AMBASSADORS Thierry Albertini thanked the evening's ambassadors who embody excellence and transmission: Valérie Garnier, an iconic figure of French and European basketball, still attached to La Valette where the multi-purpose hall bears her name, Xavier Chiocci, an international rugby player who has returned to defend the colors of XV du Coudon, his training club, Célia Cancan, European judo champion at just 18 years old, on her way to the Olympic Games and who trains in La Coupiane, and, finally, Cédric Charlet, a former professional footballer turned coach at UAV, his heart club.

Avec 70 associations sportives et plus de 6 000 licenciés, notre commune peut être fière de sa vitalité sportive. La Ville poursuit activement son soutien au monde sportif avec 324 000€ dédiés aux associations, plus d’un million d’€ investis dans nos équipements, un nouveau terrain synthétique et l'éclairage LED au stade Angelin-Segond, la rénovation des parquets du COSEC, et bientôt, la réhabilitation du stade Rougiers et du quartier environnant ».

An honorary trophy was awarded to the girls of RCTPM – Rugby Club Toulon Provence Méditerranée, crowned Élite 2 French champions and promoted to the highest level of women's rugby.
