The Bikepark, a citizen project becomes reality

Inaugurated by Hervé Stassinos, the mayor, with the participation of Lucas Abello who put on an incredible show at just 9 years old, the La Voulte bikepark marks a new step in the development of the municipality's sports facilities. Born from a citizen proposal within the framework of the participatory budget launched by the Municipalité, this project succeeded in uniting residents, associations, and elected officials around a single goal: to offer a high-quality sports and leisure space, in harmony with the natural environment of Le Plan. Located on the edge of this protected area, the land underwent an ambitious redevelopment to host a modern, secure, and accessible facility. The site is now open to all mountain biking and BMX enthusiasts, whether beginners or experienced riders.

EQUIPMENT FOR ALL LEVELS

The bikepark was designed to cater to a wide variety of practices and levels. The guiding principle: to allow everyone to progress at their own pace in a stimulating and secure environment. Three main zones make up the site. First, a handling area and a local pump track, perfect for learning basic technical skills and improving coordination. These areas are suitable for both children and adult beginners. Then, a northshore zone, equipped with wooden gangways and modules, allows riders to work on balance and safely explore more technical trails. Finally, a jump zone, designed for thrill-seekers, features dirt jumps and ramps for practicing jumps and tricks. The entire park was designed with a progression logic, to support riders in their development, regardless of their age. Anxious to preserve the quality of its natural environment, the Municipalité wished to place this project within an eco-responsible approach. The shaping of the land was carried out exclusively using materials already present on the site, thereby limiting the carbon footprint of the construction work. With the exception of the wooden structures, no imported materials were used. Furthermore, no impermeable surfacing was applied, thus promoting the natural infiltration of rainwater and the preservation of local biodiversity. This technical choice ensures smooth integration into its ecosystem.
