“Landscapes and Abstractions” This Summer at Villa Théo

The “Landscapes & Abstractions” exhibition is the flagship artistic event of the summer. Presented by Raphaël Dupouy, cultural attaché of the town, in the presence of Nathalie Janet, partners, and regional artists, this exhibition promises to be a true artistic journey. This exhibition is rich in major works. It brings together some thirty works from the town’s permanent collection, private collections, as well as collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Musée FAMM de Mougins, the Fondation Hartung-Bergman d’Antibes, the musée du Niel de Hyères, and the collection départementale d’art contemporain du Var. It is a dialogue between landscape and abstraction, as Raphaël Dupouy pointed out: “This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to admire creations by major artists, such as Henri-Edmond Cross, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Pierre Bonnard, and Henri Manguin. Through the theme of abstract landscaping, the exhibition explores the boundaries between landscape and abstraction, inviting visitors to reconsider traditional categories. Unlike figurative landscape, places blend into an experience directly linked to the emotions of each artist. The exhibition can be seen until October 18, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. It is held at Villa Théo, at 265, avenue Van Rysselberghe.”

The visual arts highlight the work of their students

Although the exhibition of the creations from the Atelier des Arts Plastiques was only visible for two weeks at the end of June, the Gazette du Var wishes to pay tribute to the some 150 paintings, watercolors, pottery, and sculptures created by the students, both adults and children. These magnificent creations are presented at the Espace culturel, testifying to the quality of the work of the teachers of each discipline and to the free expression of creation. Classes resume on September 9 and the general assembly will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 5 p.m. at the Espace culturel.
