JEAN AICARD–PAULIN BERTRAND MUSEUM La Garde. A family and heritage initiative, which originated in a promise made by Éric Guyon, great-grandson of Félix Pascalet, to his uncle Philippe Faret, to revive the artistic memory of their "papou". Beyond a simple tribute, this exhibition was the culmination of long-term work, carried out by Éric Guyon and his cousin, the scenographer Thierry Deleforge.
Together, they travelled across France to meet the descendants of Félix Pascalet, photographing and collecting the works scattered among private collections. A passionate quest, soon to be materialized by the publication of a book dedicated to the two artists.
The exhibition, which brought together 72 works, offered a sensitive and coherent journey through the museum's rooms. Visitors discovered the poetic universe of Félix Pascalet, an inspired watercolorist, some of whose works are already in the Musée d'Art de Toulon, but also the paintings of Pierre Pascalet, an architect by training, whose pictorial gaze extends and reinvents that of his father.
The opening, filled with emotion, brought together family, friends and art lovers, touched by the beauty of the project and the strength of the intergenerational bond emerging from it. More than a simple exhibition, it was a moment of memory transmission, a welcome way to reopen the 2025 season of the Jean Aicard museum.
Open Tuesday to Saturday, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Closed Sunday, Monday and public holidays. Free admission.
