BREATHALYZER TERMINALS Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is particularly exposed to the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol. In 2023, 258 people lost their lives on the region's roads (source ONISR), with 30% of fatal accidents involving excessive alcohol consumption. Motorized two-wheel users represent 37% of deaths, compared to 23% nationally.

'Among 18-24 year olds, mortality reaches 125 deaths per million inhabitants, which is more than double the average for all ages,' pointed out Jean-Pierre Ghiribelli, who is heavily involved in this operation.

The president of the UMIH du Var added: 'This time of exchange made it possible to discover a Fline Box in operation in a partner establishment, to discuss the concrete challenges of summer road safety, to understand the commitment of the beverage industries and nightlife professionals, and to better understand how a campaign can act at the right moment, without being guilt-inducing.' Indeed, at the heart of this initiative are these interactive, ergonomic, and intuitive breathalyzer terminals. Awarded by the OMS and the ministère de l'Intérieur for their public health impact, these terminals allow drivers to test their blood alcohol level in a few seconds before taking the road.

In the event of a high level, the terminal immediately offers alternative solutions: VTC, taxi, or nearby public transport.
